The hair on makeup brushes is the most valuable part of a makeup brush. When washing, try to treat the hair like antique lace. This will get you the best makeup result, and the longest lift out of your brush.
For synthetic hair, use a good quality soap that is also safe for the face. For real hair, use a lovely quality shampoo and conditioner.
Unless you are a professional makeup artist, with brushes needing sanitisation between clients, I do not recommend using commercial brush cleaners, as they can be very harsh on your brushes and the valuable brush hair.
Most self-use makeup brushes, including the Magic Foundation Brush, do not require as frequent washing as people tend to believe.
Most "dry" makeup products cannot sustain germs, and most liquid products have sanitizing or preserving ingredients - otherwise they would quickly go off.
The brushes normally "tell you" when they could do with cleaning, by the fact they become difficult to use, or clogged up. Definitely clean your brushes if there is any kind smell that should be there, or if you've had an infection.
What you will need:
- Warm running water
- A gentle soap, that is safe for the face, for cleaning synthetic hair
- Good quality shampoo and conditioner for cleaning real haired brushes
1. Using gentle skin soap or shampp: Squirt some shampoo or other gentle soap into your hand, then softly massage the brush hairs into the soap, taking care not to mash the hair at all.
2. Rinse well, keeping hair pointed downward, so water doesn't get into the base of the brush hair, where it meets the brush handle.
(Avoid completely submerging your brush in water to get maximum life span from your brush).
3. Repeat until completely clean.
4. If your brush is real hair, repeat the same process, using hair conditioner
5. Gently dry off onto a towel.
6. Shape the hair fibres into place.
7 Lay flat in a well ventilated area until completely dry. It can take some time to dry due to the density of the bristles. We suggest allowing to dry at room temperature for at least 24 hours.

Just received my makeup brush. Can’t wait to start using it. I watched both instrument video on applying foundation and cleaning brushes… I feel confident I will enjoy my brush both in applying my makeup and in care! Thanks for short and informative videos 😊
